Red Hill Avenue
Grading plan for Ferrari and Maserati of Newport Beach commercial dealership.
Project Overview
Ferrari and Maserati of Newport Beach on Red Hill Avenue in Costa Mesa. This commercial dealership project required precise grading to accommodate exotic luxury vehicles with very low ground clearance.
The rear of the property had a driveway with a steep slope and minor grade breaks. Since exotic cars with low ride height would be driving on this lot, the grading was designed to eliminate any scraping points. We flattened out the rear parking area and blended it smoothly through the grade breaks.
Approximately 53 linear feet of existing swale was removed and regraded to sheet flow. This flattened the lot enough that a flatbed-towed car could be driven off and then driven around the entire parking lot without scraping, regardless of how lowered the vehicle was.
At the front of the property where cars enter the garage, we added four ADA parking spots. The existing swale in that area was removed and the grade was flattened to create a more usable parking lot configuration. We also installed an ADA pathway connecting to the corner right-of-way sidewalk.
The project is now complete.
