Wrightwood Court
Grading and LID design for new 2-story residence with pool and stormwater management.
Project Overview
This Studio City project involved a new 2-story single-family residence with a pool in the rear. The existing driveway apron and driveway were kept in place, minimizing site disturbance and curb cuts.
For Low Impact Development, rain tanks were installed at the rear of the house connected to downspouts to capture roof runoff. At the front, two plastic-lined rain gardens collect water from the front roof downspouts. The rain gardens are sized based on the contributing roof area and are integrated into the drainage system.
All drainage from the pool deck, house, and sideyards flows through pipes to a catch basin that exits under the sidewalk through the curbface to the street. The permeable paving in the driveway area further reduces runoff by allowing water to infiltrate rather than running off.
