Residential on Olive Ave

Single-family residential fire rebuild in Altadena following the Eaton Fire. This 0.1685-acre lot is a sideways lot with the entrance on the side street. The lot slopes from east to west at approximately 7% and from north to south with only about 2 feet of elevation change.

The existing driveway apron remains, and the design minimizes cross drainage throughout the site. We regraded the existing driveway slightly to widen it, creating better transition for the new construction. The front of the house slopes 10 feet at 5% to a flowline that splits drainage to the North sideyard and South to the driveway.

Neither sideyard requires retaining walls. The rear of the property slopes behind the garage at the Southwest corner. The entire site sheet flows by gravity through landscape areas to the low point of the lot. No sump pump or mechanical drainage systems required.
