Project Overview
Single-family residential fire rebuild in Altadena following the Eaton Fire. The 0.123-acre lot slopes upwards 5 feet from the street, requiring careful drainage planning to manage stormwater runoff. Short walls on the rear of the property create a 5:1 (20%) slope with a flowline wrapping around the garage towards the middle of the lot. We maintained 5% slope 10 feet from the house to match into this flowline, which gets picked up in area drains. The west sideyard sheet flows towards these area drains, which outlet to the front yard near the end of the existing gentle slope. The east driveway sheet flows directly to the street. The driveway apron remains in place, and the driveway itself gets slightly regraded to match into the existing property line elevations with no walls along the driveway. A hydrology report demonstrates post-development flows match pre-fire conditions.
