Project Overview
Single-family fire rebuild in Altadena following the Eaton Fire. The project is a two-story house with a cellar. The driveway blends into the existing neighbor's grade and leads to a garage on the rear of the lot with an ADU on top.
The lot is slightly regraded using flowlines to bring the drainage to the rear corner, where it collects in a plastic lined rain garden. The design keeps the pre-fire existing drainage pattern similar, which is the key to avoiding unnecessary stormwater requirements.
A hydrology report was used to document the drainage approach and demonstrate the post-development flows match the pre-fire conditions.
